Do not forget to save your old lab report and submit with your edited version so your changes are obvious and easy to spot when regrading.
Make sure your essential question is a "how/why" question that requires more than a simple "yes/no" answer.
The word "affect" is a verb. The word "effect" is a noun. Use them correctly in your essential question.
Make sure you give a reason why you feel your hypothesis is correct. Make sure you understand the reason and it is based on a scientific reason.
Your independent variable is the variable that you change or manipulate.
Your dependent variable is the variable that you measure.
When writing your procedures, make sure you discuss all items in your materials list and how to use them.
Use commands when stating your step by step instructions. Do not begin sentences with "first/second/next" if they are numbered.
Never use the words "prove/correct/wrong" in your conclusion. Instead, use "support/plausible/refute."
Great words to inspire your conclusion are: "consider, trend, pattern, indicate, generally, consensus, average, apply, speculate,and many more higher order thinking words."
Always have a friend read your paper and do peer editing for you before you hand in your paper.
Find the rubric that applies to the report and grade it yourself before handing it in.
