There are several reasons why I created this page for my classes. As a matter of fact, when I first started to create it, it was quite simple and just an information source for parents/guardians. But as time passed, I began to realize its usefulness as a classroom tool as well as a study tool for students. Today, parents, students, and even other teachers use it to keep up to date with our classroom.
Just recently, I began using it to hand out homework. At first, many people were uncomfortable with digital homework rather than paper. However, in a short time, most of my students prefer to get their weekly assignments from this source and go the extra step of handing it in via email. Parents/Guardians can log on and see what has been happening in our classroom during the last few weeks.
Students and parents/guardians can check the most recent homework assignments and due dates.
Students and parents/guardians can log onto the Science Night Portal to get project ideas and keep up to date with SN assignments.
Students can download weekly Focus Questions for submission in class or via email.
Students can get useful documents like lab report rubrics and templates when doing homework.
Students and parents/guardians can check out the latest special projects done in the room.
Absent students can look at current and past assignments for make-up.
Anyone can learn useful science facts centered around our curriculum.
Anyone can check out our curriculum and how it was created.
Many lessons that require web pages and information are presented to the class by projecting this site onto our Smart Board.
Please use this site as much as possible. When I check the usage statistics, I hope to see the highest numbers possible. It took lots of work and time to create this site, but it is worth all of the trouble if it gets used.
